If you're struggling with stress or feeling overwhelmed, breathing exercises can be a big help. According to the expert, focusing on counting your breath can distract your mind from whatever is causing you stress and after 10 rounds of box breathing your cortisol levels will be down, "giving you better reserves to deal with the situation at hand”. Enjoy nature. Try to spend at least 15 minutes outdoors every day and perhaps practice mindfulness. ”Try to tune in and identify five sounds around you, what smells there are, how the temperature feels on your skin, feel the ground under your feet. This is a simple mindful practice that will help centre you and take you out of your head and ground you.” Move your body. Stretching and exercise can help reduce stress and improve your overall wellbeing. ”A yoga class is great for this, and, although not the same as a class, there are some great pre-recorded classes free online.”
