Israel Advances to Eurovision Final Amid Protests and Controversy. Israel has secured a place in Saturday’s Eurovision final, just hours after a protest disrupted their dress rehearsal - According to BBC. During Thursday’s preview show, six demonstrators waved large Palestinian flags and blew whistles while Israeli contestant Yuval Raphael performed her track New Day Will Rise. They were swiftly removed from the venue. Despite the incident, Raphael continued without interruption and later advanced to the final, visibly emotional as the result was announced. Her song remains one of the favourites to win, even as tensions around Israel’s participation grow due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Ten acts made it through from the second semi-final, including entries from Austria, Greece, Malta and Latvia.
