Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden's world-famous young hippo, Fritz, celebrated his second birthday on 3 August 2024. “It's hard to believe that he's already two,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “He still looks tiny compared to his big sister Fiona and his mom and dad.” During his first two years Fritz has become one of the zoo's most beloved residents - and enjoyed playtimes with his sister Fiona and mum Bibi. They have enjoyed splashy frolics in their enclosure - and Fritz has even ridden on mum's back, though he fell off. He and Fiona bonded well after being carefully introduced to each other. So, here's to you Fritz! And Happy Birthday! May there be many more to come.
