The Trump administration has frozen over $2 billion in federal funding for Harvard University following the school's refusal to meet a list of White House demands. The list, aimed at combating antisemitism, called for sweeping changes to governance, hiring, and admissions. Harvard pushed back, calling it a violation of its independence. In a letter to the community, Harvard President Alan Garber said the university refused to “surrender its independence” or “relinquish its constitutional rights.”
