Milei argued that Argentina's growing alignment with Western powers made it an increasingly valuable strategic partner for the United States. The Argentine leader announced plans to accelerate sanctions against companies involved in oil extraction around the islands, citing the Navitas and Rockhopper offshore project. The UK reaffirmed its sovereignty over the Falklands, citing the islanders' right to self-determination.
