In a statement, officials from the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said: “After conducting an aerial reconnaissance of one of the islands on the Dnipro River, enemy positions and an unknown object were discovered, which significantly impaired the operation of the air reconnaissance of the Defense Forces. “A decision was made to advance into the district and destroy the personnel and subsequently take control of the specified district. “After detailed planning, the soldiers of the 73rd Marine Center of Special Operations of the SSO advanced on two boats and stormed the enemy's positions. “The work of the assault group was completed by FPV drone operators. “As a result of the operation, one enemy boat was destroyed and one was damaged. In addition, 5 occupants were neutralised.” The operation is part of Ukrainian forces long-awaited counteroffensive which is now in its sixth week.
