Chinese Carmaker Patents Voice Controlled In Car Toilet. Seres has patented a voice-controlled “in-vehicle toilet” designed for use during long journeys. The system would slide out from beneath a passenger seat, either at the push of a button or via voice command, offering a solution for drivers while travelling or camping. According to the patent, the unit would include ventilation features to remove odours, as well as a tank to collect waste, which would need to be emptied manually. The design also features a heating element to dry waste, allowing the toilet to remain compact and hidden when not in use. Seres has not confirmed whether the feature will be introduced in future models. The concept highlights growing competition in China’s electric vehicle market, where carmakers are adding increasingly unusual features to stand out.
