Toyota Tells 50,000 Drivers to Stop Using Their Vehicles Immediately. On Jan. 25, Toyota issued a recall for the 2003-2004 Corolla and Corolla Matrix as well as the 2004-2005 RAV4, CBS News reports. According to the recall notice, faulty airbags should be repaired before owners drive their vehicles again. If the airbags are deployed, metal fragments could shoot out and cause injury or death. This is due to the age of the airbags, CBS News reports. "Owners SHOULD NOT DRIVE these vehicles until the FREE safety recall repair has been conducted." Toyota, via recall announcement. Instead of driving your affected vehicle to a dealer. Toyota recommends either having it towed or requesting a mobile repair where it is currently located. This recall follows another that was made about a month ago in which the proper deployment of passenger airbags in 1 million vehicles was questionable. To check if your vehicle is part of the recall, head to Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls. Toyota customer support can also be reached at 1-800-331-4331.
