Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Bulletproof Robocop-like Suit Set To Transform Dangerous Operations For Police
Caption:
Could we be set to see RoboCop-type police on the streets? A German company has designed a formidable, lightweight protective suit that is bulletproof. The suit is designed to boost survivability by offering advanced ballistic protection and is intended for use by law enforcement, military professionals, and security staff. Equipped with a flexible spine, sliding waist belt, and articulated hip, knee, and ankle joints, the kit offers up to 99 per cent ease and range of motion. It also redistributes up to 70 per cent of the wearer's tactical load from the shoulders to the ground. The aim is to alleviate physical strain, and mitigate injuries, allowing operators to focus on their duties. Mehler Protection announced the development of the ExoM Up-Armoured Exoskeleton in collaboration with the GIGN, the elite police tactical unit of the French National Gendarmerie. The GIGN, akin to the SAS, partakes in operations that might include counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and combating organised crime.
