Davina McCall undergoing surgery to remove rare brain tumour. The TV personality revealed in an Instagram video on Friday morning that she was about to have an operation to remove a benign tumour called a colloid cyst. ”A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return which I thought I was going to ace.” “But it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare - three in a million.” "And so I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons.” “I got lots of opinions, and I realised that I have to get it taken out.” “It's big for the space. It fills the space. It's 14mm wide, and it needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad.” “So I'm having it removed via a craniotomy.” The former Big Brother host told viewers that while she had been "up and down" since her diagnosis, she was now "in good spirits" and "not worrying too much”. Urging her fans not to worry about her, Davina assured them that she has "all the faith in the world" in her surgical team. The 57-year-old explained that she would spend nine days in the hospital before continuing her recovery at home and her partner Michael Douglas would post social media updates on her behalf. ”I'll see you on the other side," she concluded the video. Michael posted the clip on Instagram alongside the caption. ”@davinamccall will be 'off grid' for a bit while she recovers from this brain operation. She is in great shape and in very good hands. I'll I do the odd update from her account here for anyone interested."
