Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Netanyahu Reveals Plan for Gaza's Future

Netanyahu Reveals Plan for Gaza’s Future. The Israeli prime minister presented his plan to the country's security cabinet on Feb. 22. The plan cites the "complete demilitarization" of Hamas, closing Gaza's southern border with Egypt and overhauling the territory's administration and education systems, CNN reports. The plan comes after the prime minister has faced mounting criticism for not having a clear objective for Gaza after Hamas is eliminated. Meanwhile, a negotiating team was sent to Paris on Feb. 23 to try to reach a deal to end the conflict and release hostages. Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killing 1,200 people. Israel's retaliation has left over 29,000 dead in Gaza. Currently, Egypt controls entry and exit to and from Gaza's southern border at the Rafah crossing. Netanyahu's proposed plan would instead give Israel control at that border crossing. Israel said that it will cooperate with Egypt and the U.S. "as much as possible," CNN reports. While it's not apparent whether Egypt has agreed to any part of Netanyahu's plan, an Israeli official said that the objective was "aligned" with America. Ultimately, the plan reaffirms that "Israel will have security control over the entire area west of Jordan”. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
