Sydney Sweeney auditioned for Immaculate when she was 16. In the upcoming psychological horror film, the Euphoria star plays Cecilia, a nun who is sent to a convent outside of Rome, Italy. The 26-year-old actress revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night that she auditioned for the film 10 years ago but it never got made - so she reached out to the writer Andrew Lobel and made it happen. ”I auditioned for a version of this movie when I was 16. And they never made it." "So, 10 years later, I decided to make it. I called my agents, and I said, 'I can't get this script out of my mind, what's happened with it?’" "I contacted the writer and we re-wrote it to match me as a 25-year-old. And then I attached producers to it, I took it to a financier and I hired a director. It was the first thing I ever produced. It was amazing.” The Anyone But You star, who shot the horror on location in Italy in early 2023, also shared that her grandmothers appear as extras in the film. ”I surprised them, flew them there and I let them be extras in the movie. They're like little old nuns in there.” Host Jimmy also asked Sydney if it was difficult working with a prosthetic baby bump and she surprised him by replying, "I actually really enjoyed it... I found out it's a great place to put snacks.” Immaculate will be released in cinemas on 22 March. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
