Vance Tells Israeli Critics Trump Is Their Only Ally. Vice President JD Vance has defended President Donald Trump’s Iran deal, warning Israeli critics that the United States remains Israel’s only powerful ally. Speaking at the White House, Vance pushed back against criticism from members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government over the agreement reached to end the war with Iran. Vance said Trump is “the only head of state in the entire world” currently sympathetic to Israel and urged Israeli ministers to stop attacking him. He also reminded critics that much of Israel’s defensive military capability is funded and supplied by the United States. The comments come as some Israeli officials argue the agreement fails to address Iran’s nuclear ambitions and ballistic missile programme. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel values its relationship with the U.S. but insisted Israeli forces will remain in southern Lebanon for security reasons. Far-right ministers, including Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, have strongly criticised the deal and opposed restrictions linked to Lebanon. Trump later called for all sides to respect the ceasefire and continue negotiations across the region.
