This year, Eva Longoria and admiral Bill McRaven will each be awarded $50 million to help those in need, according to 'The Hollywood Reporter'. As chancellor of the University of Texas system, McRaven “spearheaded the creation of the Preservation of the Force & Family initiative to ensure the mental, spiritual and physical well-being of those who serve, as well as their families,” according to the university's website. In 2012, the 'Desperate Housewives' actress founded the Eva Longoria Foundation. Its mission statement is “to help Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship” . "By providing Latinas with the resources to succeed in school and business, we can help empower the Latino community."
