Jon Snow 'Game of Thrones' Spinoff Is No Longer Happening. Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington said that the 'GOT' HBO spinoff has been axed in a recent interview with Screen Rant, 'USA Today' reports. "Currently, it's off the table, because we all couldn't find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough." "So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being." 'GOT' co-star Emilia Clarke previously said that the spinoff idea was "created by" Harington, as author George R.R. Martin had not yet written anything for it. Martin confirmed this to be true in 2022. "Yes, it was Kit Harrington who brought the idea to us." "I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners, since that has not been cleared for release yet … but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific.", George R.R. Martin, via blog. While the show has been canned for now, it's possible that it may be resurrected in the future. "There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no." "It's firmly on the shelf.", Kit Harington, to Screen Rant. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
