The plants are the result of genetic modification, inspired by glowing mushrooms. Costing $29.00 (£22.00) the plants are currently only on sale in the US. The firm behind the plant, Light Bio, has grown 50,000 of the plants for sale. The plant was approved by the US Department of Agriculture in September 2023.
