Around 50 Guardsmen were mobilized on 9 August after the wildfire stuck Maui and assisted in the sweep of the affected area which will need to be completed before access can be restored to the few unaffected properties. At least 93 deaths have been confirmed killed in the fire that razed the historic town. However, the death toll could rise "significantly", Hawaii Governor Josh Green has warned as hundreds remain unaccounted for.
