Caption: Britney Spears admits Adderall was her 'drug of choice’. The pop icon has opened up about her infamous party days in her forthcoming memoir, The Woman in M revealing that her "drug of choice" at the time was Adderall, according to The New York Times which obtained an advanced copy of the book. In the memoir, Britney, 41, insisted that she had never been interested in hard drugs and had "never had a drinking problem”. However, the Circus hitmaker did confess that she took the ADHD medication which "made her high", though she added: ”What I found far more appealing was that it gave me a few hours of feeling less depressed.” Britney was regularly snapped by paparazzi in the mid to late 2000s while partying alongside fellow stars and party girls Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. However, Britney revealed that "it was never as wild as the press made it out to be”. Elsewhere in her memoir, the performer shared that after she had shaved her head in 2007, she had gone through a particularly difficult time. ”With my head shaved, everyone was scared of me, even my mom. Flailing those weeks without my children, I lost it, over and over again. I didn't even really know how to take care of myself.” "I am willing to admit that in the throes of severe postpartum depression, abandonment by my husband, the torture of being separated from my two babies, the death of my adored aunt Sandra, and the constant drumbeat of pressure from paparazzi, I'd begin to think in some ways like a child.” The Woman in Me will hit shelves on 24 October.
