The national anthem will be sung by McEntire. Malone and Day will perform "America the Beautiful" and "Lift Every Voice and Sing," respectively. McEntire told 'CBS Mornings' how she first found out about the opportunity to sing the national anthem from her manager. "He said that they wanted me to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and I said 'Oh my gosh. Well, let me think about that." "And Rex Linn, my boyfriend, who is a huge football fan, he said, 'Yes, she'll do it. Absolutely.' So that's where we're at." While McEntire has never performed at the Super Bowl before. she's been singing the national anthem at various events since she first took the stage at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City in 1974, CBS News reports. That experience, in addition to the rest of her fruitful career, has helped her to feel comfortable to perform at the Super Bowl, McEntire said. "You just warm up like you do a concert and sing it about five or six times, and get in there, and do it." Reba McEntire, on 'CBS Mornings'. As previously announced, Usher will perform at the event's halftime show this year. Super Bowl LVIII kicks off Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium.
