Caption: Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter gallops in at number one. The superstar singer has claimed her eighth number one on the all-genre album charts. With 407,000 units sold, Cowboy Carter scored the biggest week of 2024 so far, and the largest haul since Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) debuted in November 2023. Cowboy Carter also took out the number one spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums charts, making Beyoncé the first Black woman ever to have led the Top Country Albums list since its inception in January 1964. ”This album has been over five years in the making," Beyoncé posted to Instagram on Cowboy Carter's release. ”It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed...But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world.” Cowboy Carter was introduced by the singles Texas Hold 'Em and 16 Carriages, which were released during the Super Bowl festivities on February 11. The album features country legends Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, along with collaborations with Miley Cyrus and Post Malone. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
