According to a new CBS/YouGov poll, 54% of President Biden's supporters want him to get reelected simply because they don't want Trump back in office, 'The Guardian' reports. 27% back Biden because they like him. 19% are offering their support since he's the Democratic nominee. Meanwhile, the CBS poll found that Biden and Trump are practically tied in important swing states. 55% of voters said Trump's recent conviction won't impede their pick for president. Only 28% said that it will certainly be a factor. 14% said they are backing Trump specifically because of his conviction. The poll also found that eight out of 10 Trump voters wrongly believe that Trump was on trial because of the Biden administration rather than NYC prosecutors. The former president is set to be sentenced on July 11. Meanwhile, the issues most important to voters in the 2024 election are the U.S. economy, inflation, democracy and crime, the poll found.
