Caption: Gavin Rossdale reveals divorce from Gwen Stefani is his 'simplest shame’. The Bush frontman has opened up about his 2015 split from the singer, after remaining largely quiet on the subject. During Thursday's episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, Gavin admitted he wished, he had "more of a connection" with Gwen, with whom he shares sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. ”I never thought I'd ever get divorced. So there's a simple shame in my life.” The musician said that both his parents had been married several times, which was something he didn't want his own kids to experience. ”I feel bad for my kids, that's it. I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn't fun for me to come from a broken home... It can be quite debilitating for kids... the overriding things is you don't want to let your kids down.” "The biggest thing would be when you see the kids that sometimes there's a loss. It'd be nice if there was more of a connection with the person who made them with me.” Gavin and the Sweet Escape hitmaker first met in 1995 and tied the knot in 2002. The pair announced their split in 2015, after it was rumoured that Gavin had cheated on her with their nanny. During the episode, Gavin said that despite their "hugely emotional" divorce, he tries not to discuss his ex-wife in public. ”Less said, soonest mended and I said nothing. I'm handcuffed because I would never want to overly say anything negative about their mom. That's just not right. I think that there's no accidents in life so you are where you're meant to be. So I don't live in regret. Life just unfolds how it should.” THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
