Helen McGrath-Doherty and Pete Doherty spent 18 months building the Norfolk cabin from pallets and recycled materials after they became tired from the stresses of living in London. The couple juggled long hours but were often left with little money despite their hard work. During the build process, Pete lost his job which meant the couple had to crowd-fund to complete the project. The now complete off-grid cabin sits on six acres of wildflower meadow where guests can come for a digital detox. The couple want those who visit to reconnect with the natural world and its pace. Helen said: ‘We’ve all been lured into living very busy 24/7 lives with technology dragging us along this path. It’s crucial for well-being to spend some time disconnected from it.'
