According to People, Jolie's daughter Vivienne inspired her to take on the role and will be involved in the Broadway production as her mother's volunteer assistant. The mother-daughter duo saw the world premiere of the musical at La Jolla Playhouse in California earlier this year, and subsequently had a meeting with the author, who wrote the 1967 novel during high school. In the announcement last week, the 48-year-old said she felt "very fortunate" to be involved in bringing the show to Broadway.
