Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Banking Glitch in Ireland Lets Customers Withdraw Money They Don't Have

Caption: On Aug. 15, a technological glitch caused an outage at the Bank of Ireland (BOI). It allowed customers to transfer up to $1,090.20 to their accounts via the bank's app and website, even if they had insufficient funds. That money could then be withdrawn from an ATM, CBS News reports. Many people attempted to capitalize on the error, and others weren't able to access their accounts. "Haven't been able to access my account all day which is ridiculous. How are people meant to buy food or other necessities if our cards won't even work or can't check our bank balances?!", BOI customer, via X. The issue has since been resolved. The BOI issued an apology and warned that any funds that were withdrawn "over normal limits...will be debited" from users' accounts. This isn't the first time that the Irish lender has had these issues, CBS News reports. "Here we go again!! Has bank of Ireland no contingency plan. Your app has been down twice in the last month!!!", BOI customer, via X THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
