Headline: UNCAPTIONED: House Passes $14.3 Billion in Israel Aid

Caption: House Passes $14.3 Billion in Israel Aid. A bill to provide monetary aid to Israel amid its war against Hamas was passed by the House on Nov. 2. The move is likely to "clash with the Democratic-led Senate," CNN reports. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer referred to the bill as a "deeply flawed proposal". Democrats are upset that the bill doesn't include aid for Ukraine and would cut IRS funding. However, much of the GOP-led House is against sending more money to Ukraine. According to the Congressional Budget Office, cuts to IRS funding would increase the deficit and lose about $26.8 billion in revenue over a decade. "The hypocrisy here is that by cutting funding to go after tax cheats, (it) will actually explode the deficit by billions and billions of dollars. What a joke." "We will work together on our own bipartisan emergency aid package that includes aid to Israel, Ukraine, competition with the Chinese government and humanitarian aid to Gaza.", Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, via statement. As the two chambers continue to argue, another potential government shutdown is on the horizon, as funding expires on Nov. 17. New House Speaker Mike Johnson said he's committed to passing a bill to help Ukraine after dealing with Israel first, but it would need to include border security provisions. "Ukraine will come in short order, it will come next. And you've heard me say that we want to pair border security with Ukraine … If we're going to take care of a border in Ukraine, we need to take care of America's border as well.", House Speaker Mike Johnson, via statement.
