Orthopedic wheelchairs for animals with spinal injuries and hind limb paralysis are stored at the private animal shelter My Special Friend. The shelter was founded by Olena Chertoryzhska in 2022 following the liberation of Kyiv Region from Russian occupation. The fighting led to a sharp increase in the number of animals suffering from spinal injuries and hind-leg paralysis. Today, the shelter primarily cares for animals evacuated from frontline areas. It is home to 90 animals, including 25 that are unable to move independently.
