Police officers from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) detain a handcuffed youth who had been hiding in bushes during a protest by high school students against the government outside the Cantau high school in Anglet, southwestern France, on October 5, 2026. Students have been blocking schools across France since September 21 to demand more teachers, smaller classes and better school buildings. Cantau was closed by authorities after clashes in recent days.
