Headline: Tenants Protest Housing Policies In Madrid

Caption:

Hundreds of tents remain at Puerta del Sol on the sixth day of a housing rights encampment organized by housing activists following the eviction of Maricarmen Abascal, an 87-year-old woman who was forced to leave her rented home in Madrid after living there for 71 years. The encampment, initially called by the Sindicato de Inquilinas (Tenants' Union), has grown as individuals and organizations join the protest demanding stronger tenant protections and measures to address Spain's housing crisis.
