State Emergency Service rescuers roll out fire hoses outside an apartment block, damaged by a Russian high-speed, jet-powered Shahed-type drone strike, Odesa, Ukraine, September 28, 2026. The attack destroyed an apartment on the 12th floor. The shock wave and debris damaged the building’s facade, balconies, and windows from the first to the 11th floors. A fire broke out at the impact site but State Emergency Service rescuers promptly extinguished it. Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that four people were injured. A 56-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were admitted to hospital, while two young women, aged 17 and 18, received medical assistance at the scene.
