Headline: Drumcree parade standoff continues in Portadown

Caption:

Members of the Orange Order gather near Drumcree Parish Church as a standoff over the contentious Drumcree parade continues in Portadown. The Protestant fraternal organization had been granted conditional permission to march along the predominantly nationalist Garvaghy Road for the first time in nearly three decades, but the route was blocked by thousands of protesters and police prevented the parade from proceeding amid public safety concerns. On Monday, residents continued gathering on Garvaghy Road while Orange Order members remained near Drumcree Church as discussions continued with police and officials over the dispute.
