Karin Sczech, UNESCO representative for the City of Erfurt, and Christian Tannhäuser, regional specialist for Central Thuringia at the Thuringian State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments and Archaeology, examine artifacts uncovered during the excavation behind Erfurt City Hall. The excavation work is intended to expand on existing knowledge about the settlement of Erfurt·s second Jewish community, which was located in this area from 1354 to 1454. Since 2023, the Jewish Medieval Heritage in Erfurt has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
