Environmental defenders and indigenous groups gather outside Camp Crame to protest police actions against communities opposing mining exploration in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya. The demonstration follows the August 28 police dispersal of an anti-mining barricade in Barangay Paquet, where 11 protesters were arrested during a dispute over the entry of North Luzon Mineral Resources Corporation for mineral exploration. The 11 were later released on bail, while charges against them remain pending.
