Members of the Newar community take part in the traditional Dya Pukhhu (Deu Pokhari) Jatra. Centered around the Dya Pukhhu pond, the annual festival is observed according to longstanding local religious and cultural traditions following Janai Purnima and includes rituals associated with the pond, including the traditional sacrifice of a goat.
