Residents waved the ''Moon and Star'' flag while attending the 2026 Aceh Peace Day commemoration at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia, on Saturday. The peace agreement between Aceh and Indonesia is known as the Helsinki MoU (Memorandum of Understanding), signed on August 15, 2005, in Helsinki, Finland. This agreement ended a long-standing armed conflict between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) that had lasted for 30 years.
