The peace agreement between Aceh and Indonesia is known as the Helsinki MoU (Memorandum of Understanding), signed on August 15, 2005, in Helsinki, Finland. This agreement ended a protracted armed conflict between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) that had lasted for 30 years.
