State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescuers deploy fire hoses from a fire engine during response efforts following an overnight Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, on August 11, 2026. Overnight on August 11, Russian forces launched a massive combined strike on Zaporizhzhia, firing 10 missiles at the city, including a North Korean ballistic missile and Zircon hypersonic missiles, as well as guided aerial bombs (KABs). The attack completely destroyed the State Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification and damaged or destroyed a number of industrial facilities and civilian infrastructure sites, including food establishments, four apartment buildings and a garage cooperative, where the blast wave demolished garages and dozens of vehicles. Six people were killed and 52 others were injured in the attack
