Activists continue protesting against treatment by Chinese authorities of Tibetan people by suppressing freedom of religion, language, culture and prosecuting those who dear to speak out. Protest is going on across of UN Headquarters in New York, NY as seen on August 10, 2026 where Lobga Rangzen aka Lobsang Palden, 52, Tibetan activist from New York died after self-immolating on July 2, 2026 and memorial for him is set. His protest came one day after China's Ethnic Unity and Progress Law took effect in what Mandarin language declared as single state-defined banning Tibetan and Uyghur languages being taught in schools.
