On Sunday night, August 9, the Russian army carried out a massive combined attack on Odesa, causing significant destruction in two districts of the southern Ukrainian port city. In central Odesa, a Russian missile hit a four-storey residential building, where two floors were completely burnt out. Two private houses and offices were also damaged. At least six civilian cars were destroyed or badly damaged in courtyards by falling debris and direct hits. Damage to energy facilities led to a temporary blackout, with partial power outages in the Peresypskyi (Poskot), Prymorskyi, Khadzhybeiskyi and Odesa districts. The city also faced temporary disruptions to water supply and mobile communications.
