First responders hand a woman retrieved from under the rubble of a house destroyed by a Russian guided bomb over to medics, Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, August 2, 2026. Russian forces carried out a massive attack on the southeastern Ukrainian city with guided aerial bombs, striking civilian infrastructure and residential areas. One bomb hit a private house, causing severe destruction and fire, while another exploded outside a multi-storey residential building. The blast ignited a balcony on the ground floor and two cars, shattered windows, damaged facades of neighbouring nine-storey blocks and affected 12 more vehicles nearby. A 71-year-old woman was killed, and the total number of wounded rose to 31.
