On July 25, 2026, thousands of people departed from AltaFelicit , a music festival in Venaus, to reach the construction sites of the TAV (High speed rail), a railway project to connect Italy and France. The demonstrators managed to enter the site and there clashed with the police, who responded with tear gas. Many of the buildings inside were put on fire, including two police vehicles. The TAV project has been highly contested during the last 30 years because of environmental damages and increasing costs.
