Record-breaking rainfall over four consecutive days has caused severe waterlogging across Chattogram, particularly in the CEPZ area. Thousands of garment workers struggled to return home through flooded roads, heavy rain, and severe traffic congestion, while many also found their homes inundated. The recurring impacts of extreme rainfall, intensified by climate change and inadequate drainage infrastructure, continue to disrupt urban life. Heavy rains and related landslides have claimed 30 lives across the Chittagong Division.
