Caption:

The historic building of School No. 81, destroyed in a Russian guided bomb attack, in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, on July 4, 2026. The building, formerly the Mennonite girls’school Madchenschule in the Rosenthal colony, had served as a branch of Children’s Music School No. 5. Russian forces struck the city with at least five guided aerial bombs (KABs). Seven people, including a child, were injured in the attack. Built in 1904 in the Art Nouveau style with elements of Dutch Renaissance and Late Baroque, the building is a locally protected architectural landmark dating to the early 20th century. In 1910, teacher Petro Buzuk founded the Khortytsia Society for Nature Protection, the first nature conservation society in the Russian Empire
