Clashes erupted during anti-G7 demonstrations in Geneva on June 14, 2026. Protesters damaged bank branches and other symbols associated with global capitalism, while police responded with tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets. Confrontations between demonstrators and security forces continued for several hours across the city. Later in the evening, police surrounded remaining protesters at Perle du Lac and carried out identity checks on hundreds of participants.
