Headline: Alpacas Undergo Annual Shearing
Caption:
Animal keepers hold an alpaca during shearing. There was a haircut for the alpacas at the Halberstadt animal enclosure today. Every year, the animals have to be stripped of their wool. The wool coat grows considerably over the course of a year and makes the animals sweat in summer. Stefanie Kauschus needs 20 minutes for one shearing. The wool is then processed further. Alpacas have a high-quality wool.
