Shepherd Sascha Bräuning walks with his flock, consisting of around 200 Merino Landschaf ewes, to the symbolic handover of the shepherd's crook on the market square in Seelow. When flocks of sheep graze through the Brandenburg countryside or in Berlin, it is about much more than idyllic scenery. With a series of events, the Berlin-Brandenburg Sheep Breeders' Association wants to draw attention to the importance of sheep farms for nature, climate and landscape conservation in the "Shepherd Year 2026". Several grazing days are planned for June, where visitors can gain an insight into the work of shepherds and graziers.
