Students from Kharkiv Lyceum N116, which is part of the Metro School project, attend the Last Bell celebration at a metro station in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on 29 May 2026. Owing to the threat of Russian shelling, end-of-year celebrations are held only in shelters. The Metro School is a unique educational project in Kharkiv that enables children to study offline in a safe underground environment. Classrooms are equipped at seven metro stations and specially constructed underground spaces. Lessons are conducted in two shifts, and children are transported to their place of study by buses accompanied by tutors, free of charge
