Christian Meyer (Alliance 90/The Greens, l), Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection in Lower Saxony, and employees of the seal station carry a crate with one of two seals that are being released into the wild on the East Frisian island of Juist out of a boat. The weakened animals had previously been reared at the Norddeich seal station (Aurich district) until they were fit enough to survive independently in the Wadden Sea.
