Young sea trout are released into Stockholm Stream in central Stockholm Sweden on May 12 2026. Children from a local preschool attended the annual event and helped release fish into the water alongside organizers and city representatives. The fish release is part of a Stockholm conservation tradition that began in 1973 to support salmon and sea trout stocks biodiversity and recreational fishing in the city waters. This year 10000 sea trout were released into Stockholm Stream while a total of 150000 trout are being released across Stockholm County during the spring.
