Freshly planted trees stand on the Sellerhäuser Viaduct. The former railroad bridge, which is over 100 years old, will be planted with 50 trees by mid-April as part of the "Parkbogen Ost". Over the next few years, around 1.5 kilometers of former railroad line will be used to create a green ridge in the east of Leipzig, which will be connected and networked with the residential areas and allotments. An extensive range of recreational areas and accessible sports and play facilities are also planned. Around 17 million euros are currently budgeted for the entire "Parkbogen Ost" project, a significant proportion of which will come from the federal government.
